# Contacts

> Create and import contacts, then review their activity

Contacts keeps identity details, labels, projects, and linked opportunities together.

## Create a contact

  <Step title="Open Contacts">
    Go to **Connect > Contacts** and select **Create contact**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter contact details">
    Add **Name** and **Email**. Add a phone number and country code if needed, then select **Create**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the record">
    Open the contact to see their stage, labels, projects, source, engagement, and linked opportunities.
  </Step>

## Import contacts

Use **More contact actions > Import Contacts**. For a CSV, upload the file, map its columns, review the import, and confirm. Map at least an email or phone column. GoHighLevel import is also available when connected.

## Merge duplicates

Use **Find duplicates** to review matches by email or phone number. Choose the record to keep and review the merge before confirming. Merging combines records and cannot be undone.
