# Sharing

> Publish a link to an offer or the Codex, and control who can edit it

Publish shares a document, an offer or the Codex, with someone outside your workspace by email. They need their own Olympus account to open it.

## Publishing

Click **Publish** from the document's toolbar, enter the recipient's email, and share. If that email belongs to an Olympus account, they can now open the link. If it doesn't, nothing is created, and you see the same confirmation either way, so you can't use sharing to check which emails have accounts.

The link itself sits right below the email field, ready to copy.

## View by default, edit by admin only

Every new share grants view access. The recipient sees the document's confirmed content, nothing else: no chat, no version history, no locks, no tags or status, and no sharing controls of their own.

Only an admin can upgrade a share to edit access, or take it back down to view. An editor can still create new view shares and revoke the ones they created, but granting or changing edit access is an admin action everywhere in the product, including here.

An edit grantee can change the document's content fields, same as anyone else, and locked fields stay locked for them too.

## Unpublish

Unpublishing removes every grant on a document at once. It's an admin action, and it's the fastest way to close off a document you shared more widely than you meant to.

## Who gets notified

If someone other than an admin creates a share, the org's admins get an Inbox notice naming who shared what with whom. Admins creating a share don't trigger that notice.

## What a shared link shows

The shared page is live, not a snapshot. It shows the document's current confirmed values, refreshing on its own rather than waiting for you to reshare the link. It never shows anything still waiting for approval.
