# Personalization

> Set response style, talk-back preferences, knowledge capture, and custom instructions

Open **Settings > Personalization** to choose how the agent responds to you. These choices do not replace your [Brand Voice](/modules/brand/voice) or change customer copy directly.

## Set your response preferences

Choose a **Response style**: Default, Pragmatic, Friendly, Concise, or Detailed.

Under **How the agent talks back**, each row also offers **No preference**:

| Setting | Choices |
| - | - |
| Directness | Gentle; Direct but warm; Blunt |
| Pushback | Low; Medium; Medium to high; High |
| Recommendations | Strongest pick first; Ranked options; Even tradeoffs |
| Number of options | One, unless I am brainstorming; Two or three; As many as fit |
| Questions | Only if it changes the answer; When it is unsure; Before it starts |

Under **Never do this**, select the behaviors to avoid: Hype, Talking down to me, Softening feedback until it says nothing, Therapy language, Bro-marketing talk, Vague motivation, or Rewriting my goal without asking.

**Clear** resets the talk-back choices. **Use recommended** fills in suggested choices and all seven behavior boundaries. Neither button saves the form.

## Choose knowledge capture

* **Off**: save knowledge only when you explicitly ask. This is the default.
* **Suggest**: the agent can offer to save durable company facts, then waits for your approval.

Add **Custom instructions** if needed, up to 10,000 characters.

## Save changes

Select **Save changes**. Saved preferences apply to new AI tasks. If saving fails, use **Retry**. Changing controls without saving does not persist the form.

Personalization does not grant tool permissions or remove approval requirements.
